Our 2017 Achievements

Bedside Visits

Having experienced antepartum and/or the NICU with their own children, our Program Facilitators visited over 7,963 families bedside, ensuring them that they are not traveling this road alone.

NEST Clinic Assistance

At Cook Childen's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Program Facilitator, Natalie Gordon assisted 333 families in the NEST Clinic, which provides follow up care for NICU graduates.

Family Events

Over 1,150 individuals attended our in-hospital and community-based events. These connections amongst antepartum and NICU families help reduce anxiety and depression among post-NICU parents.

Financial Assistance

The hospitalization of a baby in the NICU can leave a family financially unprepared. Assistance with transportation, gas, lodging, parking, and food are just a few examples of ways we helped NICU families this year.

Post-NICU Connections

Committed to providing
support for families long after leaving the NICU, our NICU Mom CONNECT Program brings together post-NICU families through monthly social outings, self-care days, and family gatherings.

Disaster Relief

Due to the devastating destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey, NICU Helping Hands collected relief funds and we were able to help multiple NICU families who were evacuated, displaced, and/or lost their homes entirely.

Testimonials

NICU Helping Hands is amazing! Emily visited me regularly during my hospital stay leading up to Kaley's birth and now I see her often in the NICU. She supports us both emotionally and in other ways. She makes sure our needs are being taken care of while we're traveling back and forth between home and the hospital and while we're here. I encourage my friends to donate to Helping Hands. I know we will when we can.

I can't express how much this organization means to my family. We lost our princess, Leah Marie, after a two-month struggle on the NICU in Boston. We never had the chance to dress our baby girl or hold her until the last day. Being able to dress her and send her to heaven in that beautiful meant the world to us. It was fit for a princess. My princess.

There are no words to explain how thankful and feel for helping hands! We were already going through a hard time, because our son was in NICU for a month. It was a nightmare that we couldn't take him home, we had other children at home. Without neglecting them we brought them with us and helping hands made it easy to keep them occupied when they got bored and we got to be as a family at the hospital. Also all the gifts and events they do and give was to remind us of our little when we couldn't be there! I appreciate everything these ladies have done and Natalie was my greatest help. Y'all keep doing what you're doing because it helps everyone through this difficult time when it should be a joyful moment when having a baby! But these ladies help make it that way! Thank you!

I can't express how much it meant to me for providing my little angel a gown. She was born so small and I didn't know what I was going to do. They called me and they did everything they could to get it to me by the time of her funeral. They hand delivered and let me pick the one I wanted to use for my baby. The gowns were so precious and they were a blessing. Thank you so very much.

What to say about this unbelievable organization. There are no words to describe the comfort, care, educational resources, love, and overall overwhelming support my family and I were shown during our 2+ months in the NICU. I was honored to get to know the staff in particular Emily. It doesn't get much better than Emily! I look forward to staying involved post NICU and doing anything that I can to help those parents that will soon be in my shoes. We cannot thank you enough for everything.

NICU helping hands are amazing for families that have babies in the NICU. Just knowing you have these amazing ladies support even if it's just to see their faces every day... I believe that helped get me through our 60-day journey!! Love NICU helping hands and can't wait to continue to be part of this "family" at all the events.
